How to cook a Peruvian dish

   


     One of my favorite foods to cook and to eat is arroz con pollo. When I was little,my family used to cook a lot of this food for family reunions. This dish was my grandmother’s favorite food. I used to go into the kitchen when I was little and watch my grandmother cook. When my grandmother saw me there, she told me that I cannot cook with her because I was too little. As a result I stayed there until she finished. Later on, I said to my grandmother “when I grow up I will be cooking with you.” Now I will show you how to prepare this food.    
     The ingredients for this food are; coriander, garlic, pepper, red pepper, peas, oil, onions, carrot, salt, and chicken. Now that we have the ingredients, we can start cooking. First, we put a little bit of oil in the pot. Second, cut the onions in cubes and place them in the pot. Afterwards, add garlic, pepper, and red pepper. Next, we wait 3 minutes and add slices of chicken .Than we tossthe peas and 4 cups of water. After the chicken is cooked, we add 4cups of rice and a little bit of salt. Finally, we wait for the rice is cooked and ready to eat.
      When the food was ready all my family sit in the large table to eat together , they all start to talking stories about when they were kids.  For me cooking with my family is very important and fun because every day I learn something new from them.
